Surah Al-Qadr
The Night of Glory • Surah 97 • 5 verses
Introduction
Since the previous chapter commemorates the first revelation, this Meccan chapter celebrates the glorious night the Quran was revealed, which is believed to be the night of Ramaḍân 27,610 C.E. The reason why the Prophet was sent with the Quran is spelled out in the next chapter.
Indeed, ˹it is˺ We ˹Who˺ sent this ˹Quran˺ down on the Night of Glory.
And what will make you realize what the Night of Glory is?
The Night of Glory is better than a thousand months.
That night the angels and the ˹holy˺ spirit descend, by the permission of their Lord, for every ˹decreed˺ matter.
It is all peace until the break of dawn.
